Slovakia Issues First AI Guidelines for Schools

Slovakia has introduced its first guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence in schools, aimed at tackling cheating and misuse. The Education Ministry is backing the new ethical code, developed by the Slovak AI Association (ASIA) and nonprofit EDULAB, and plans to recommend it nationwide. The document was also reviewed by school principals and is intended to set clear rules where none previously existed.

The guidelines ban automated grading and the use of AI to create fake or manipulative content, such as deepfakes. Schools are also warned against entering students’ personal data into AI tools. The code sets age-based limits on use and will be regularly updated to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology.
