Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Richard Raši (HLAS-SD) is heading to Copenhagen to attend the Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments, focused on the future of Europe.
Key topics include security and the resilience of democratic institutions in a time of rapid technological change.
Raši said the meeting is a strategic platform where Slovakia must actively shape debate on the Union’s future. He stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, calling national parliaments “guarantors of citizens’ trust” amid growing hybrid threats.
He is also set to promote Slovakia’s support for EU enlargement, particularly for Western Balkan countries and Moldova, and to defend maintaining unanimity in key decisions such as foreign policy and taxation.
A series of bilateral meetings is planned on the side-lines, including talks on regional cooperation and infrastructure.
