The Slovak U18 national hockey team came within a hair’s breadth of a historic gold medal after delivering a superb team performance at the World Championship on home ice. Although the young Slovaks were unable to cap off an exceptionally successful tournament with a gold medal, they nonetheless earned the praise of their coach, Martin Dendis, as well as the hockey world. The Slovaks made it to the final four for the fourth consecutive year.
