Parliamentary Debate Continues on Voting from Abroad

MPs have resumed debate on proposed changes to voting from abroad, put forward by the ruling Smer-SD party. The bill is in its first reading, with Vice-chair Tibor Gašpar continuing a speech he was unable to finish last week. The debate follows tensions in Parliament on Friday, when opposition MP Zuzana Mesterová was ordered out of the chamber after bringing a petition opposing the changes. She has criticised the move as a restriction of free speech and plans to challenge it at the Constitutional Court. Gašpar says it was he who was prevented from speaking, accusing the opposition of violating his rights. Parliament is expected to vote on the legislation on Tuesday.
