Finance Minister Peter Kažimír informed that the state budget deficit ended up at 4.35 percent of GDP last year, with the overall debt reaching 52.1 percent. State budget revenues stood at €11.8 billion, with expenditures at €15.6 billion.
“In absolute figures public finances ended up with a deficit of €3.106 billion, which was €216.8 million less than estimated,” added Kažimír. When compared with the rest of the EU, there were eight states that had higher public finance deficits than Slovakia, with a total of 17 countries also recording a higher overall debt.
