The Canadian rating agency Morningstar DBRS has affirmed Slovakia’s current rating at A (low) with a stable outlook. The Finance Ministry noted that this rating comes at a time of global instability.
According to DBRS analysts, Slovakia will maintain moderate but stable economic growth this year at approximately 0.6 %, primarily due to external factors. They expect the situation to gradually improve, with growth expected to gradually approach a level of around 2% in the coming years. The agency also cites forecasts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which projects Slovakia’s growth at 1.7% in 2027 and 2.6% in 2028.
Two weeks ago, the Japanese agency JCR also affirmed Slovakia’s A+ rating with a stable outlook.
A gradual increase in real wages could boost household consumption starting next year.
