Slovak actress Marta Sládečková has received this year’s Kvet Tálie award at the Festival Aničky Jurkovičovej in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. She accepted the honour ahead of the opening of the festival’s 27th edition, celebrating amateur and professional theatre.
The award, presented since 2002, recognises outstanding contributions by Slovak actresses to the stage. The festival itself pays tribute to Anička Jurkovičová, one of the country’s first actresses, and highlights the role of women in theatre and society.
