The trial related to last year’s attack at a secondary school in Spišská Stará Ves, eastern Slovakia, is set to begin Monday at the Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok.
Two women—a deputy headmistress and a student—were killed in the attack. Samuel Straško faces charges of the particularly serious crime of premeditated murder—partly completed, partly attempted, and partly in the preparatory stage.
In January 2025, two women aged 18 and 51 were fatally wounded. An 18-year-old female student was also taken to hospital with moderate injuries. Additionally, a 51-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were treated at the scene for acute stress reaction.
