Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) views a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran as very fragile, but believes that "hot heads will cool down a bit".
"I'm very pleased about the two-week ceasefire. It's a very fragile truce, but anyway, let's hope that those hot heads will cool down a little," Fico said in a video he posted on social media on Wednesday morning.
The United States and Iran agreed to a ceasefire shortly before the expiry of an ultimatum given by US President Donald Trump to Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal for an immediate two-week ceasefire was accepted by Iran, the United States and their allies. The agreement includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
