The President of the Conference of Slovak Bishops (KBS), Košice Archbishop Metropolitan Bernard Bober, wished that the upcoming Easter would serve as a personal invitation for everyone to turn toward God and renew their desire for holiness, beginning in daily life, the KBS press office reported. “We enter the celebration of the mysteries of our Lord’s death and resurrection. The Son of God Himself, through His painful suffering and immense abandonment, drew close to all the pains of every person. Looking at the Crucified today, we see the wounds of suffering humanity—let us listen to His cries and not remain indifferent,” Bober emphasized.
He reminded the faithful that Christ did not remain in the tomb, but through His resurrection demonstrated that death has no ultimate power, and that even through the darkness of hatred and war, the dawn of reconciliation and peace shines. “I wish that Christ’s peace may reign in your hearts and communities. Let us selflessly share it further, for the world urgently needs the peace that springs from His mercy and forgiveness,” added the head of KBS.
