Slovakia Reaffirms Strong Condemnation of Terrorism on European Remembrance Day

Slovakia firmly and consistently condemns all forms of terrorism, regardless of their origin or political, ideological, religious, or ethnic background. “It is even more necessary today to appeal for a principled approach and condemn terrorist attacks not only in Europe but around the world,” said Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) on the occasion of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism. Slovakia actively combats terrorism through multilateral forums and international organizations such as the UN, EU, and NATO, thereby enhancing its own security. In 2006, Slovakia ratified the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism and became the first country in the world to ratify all 13 UN universal conventions aimed at countering terrorism.
