The Foreign Ministry, at the instruction of the head of the department Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD), summoned the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Slovak Republic, Jules Gerzon. Blanár expressed his protest against the part of its coalition agreement, which describes Slovakia as a country that is allegedly "actively undermining Europe", after the official appointment of the new minority Dutch government. Slovakia perceives this designation as unacceptable interference in the affairs of the Slovak Republic and strongly opposes it.
