Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) will have a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj today, on 27 February. The main topic will be oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline, this has been confirmed by the Government Office.
Fico announced the phone call during a meeting with students in Spišská Nová Ves on Thursday, 26 February. Fico, among others, stated that he has intelligence information according to which the Druzhba pipeline is not damaged. The Prime Minister also noted that several countries, in his opinion, continue to cooperate commercially with Russia. He pointed to the purchases of liquefied natural gas by some European Union member states and the purchase of enriched uranium by the United States.
