Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) and his Czech counterpart Jeroným Tejc said their meeting confirmed the strong ties between the two countries. They discussed civil code reform, criminal law changes and digitalization of the judiciary among others.
Both ministers aim to better coordinate their positions ahead of a planned joint government meeting in March, where a memorandum on deeper cooperation should be adopted. They also highlighted the importance of aligning their approaches within the European Union, including on EU legislation and court proceedings. Tejc, on his first foreign visit as minister welcomed the exchange of experience on judicial digitalization and noted that Slovakia could serve as a model for the use of electronic monitoring systems.
