Oil Deliveries Delayed Again, Power Exports to Ukraine Continue

The resumption of oil supplies to Slovakia through the Druzhba pipeline has been postponed again, with the latest date set for 26 February, the Economy Ministry said. The reasons for the delay have not been specified, but authorities stressed that domestic fuel supplies remain secure thanks to emergency reserves and a declared state of oil emergency. The ministry is monitoring the situation and remains in contact with partners.

Meanwhile, electricity exports to Ukraine continued on Tuesday, February 24, without restrictions, reaching nearly 600 megawatts in the morning. Standard commercial exports are not affected by Prime Minister Robert Fico’s (Smer-SD) decision to halt emergency electricity supplies. The opposition party SaS has filed a criminal complaint against Fico, accusing him of abuse of power over his stance on stopping emergency assistance to Ukraine.
