Slovakia Marks Ukraine War Anniversary

Slovakia is marking the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine both diplomatically and on the streets. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (SMER-SD) is addressing the United Nations in Geneva and sending a video message to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, reaffirming support for international law and a just, lasting peace. Slovakia is also backing a UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty. Across the country, people are gathering in solidarity. Marches are taking place in cities nationwide, with the largest events planned in Košice and Bratislava.
