Police stepped up security at schools in Bratislava on Monday morning following alleged threats circulated on social media. President Peter Pellegrini says the state must take the toughest possible stance, calling for all necessary measures to protect pupils and identify those responsible. He stressed that parents must be confident their children are safe, both physically and mentally.
Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (HLAS-SD) says the threats targeted 19 schools, most of them in Bratislava, with police patrols deployed across affected areas. The case is being investigated as spreading a false alarm, which carries a potential five-year prison sentence. Police President Jana Maškarová says cybercrime units are pursuing several leads. Authorities say the situation is under control.
