To ensure immediate operational readiness, the CV9035 MkIV combat vehicles being produced for the Slovak Armed Forces in Sweden must be stored under specific technical conditions. Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák said the ministry is working to secure the necessary facilities in time for their arrival.
The vehicles will be assigned primarily to the 1st Mechanised Brigade.
On Friday, international defence manufacturer BAE Systems Hägglunds unveiled the new CV9035 MkIV variant built for Slovakia in the Swedish city of Örnsköldsvik. Slovakia expects to receive a total of 152 vehicles, with the first units potentially delivered to the armed forces later this year. Dozens of Slovak companies are involved in the production process.
