Slovakia supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and wants to take part in peace efforts, Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) said after meeting his Palestinian counterpart. He confirmed that Slovakia will attend the inaugural session of the US-led Peace Council in Washington as an observer. The initiative, launched by President Donald Trump, focuses on post-war reconstruction in Gaza, although Palestine is not a member.
Blanár said Slovakia would welcome clearer backing for a two-state solution within the council’s framework. He added that Slovakia will continue humanitarian aid to Gaza and expand cooperation with Palestine, including a new agreement in agriculture.
