Slovakia in Munich Security Talks

More than 450 global leaders gathered at the 62nd Munich Security Conference from February 13 to 15 to discuss the future of European defence, transatlantic relations and the global order amid rising tensions and the war in Ukraine. Slovakia was represented by State Secretary Marek Eštok, who described the forum as a key platform for dialogue on pressing security challenges. Discussions also covered technological progress and the growing role of artificial intelligence in security.

On the sidelines, Eštok held talks with counterparts from South Africa, Norway and the United Arab Emirates, and met Armin Laschet, chair of the German Bundestag’s foreign affairs committee. Held annually since 1963, the Munich conference traditionally brings together heads of state, ministers, military experts and industry leaders each February.
