The Slovak Tatras have received the Adventure Star – Certificate of Excellence at the Travel Pro Stars 2026 gala held during the tourism fair in Bucharest. The award recognises destinations that combine nature, activity, authenticity and community life into a compelling visitor experience.
According to the regional tourism organisation, the jury praised the Tatras for turning natural beauty into adventure and traditions into authentic experiences. Organisers noted that the Romanian market views the Tatras as a broad mountain region, including Liptov and surrounding areas. The award comes as the region strengthens its presence abroad, with Romania among its fastest-growing source markets in recent years.
