In times of rapid global change, the Visegrad Group is a relevant and necessary grouping of partnerships between the four countries and the coordination of their views in the region and within the European Union, declared Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the V4.
According to him, strengthening the unified voice of Central Europe is natural and necessary and represents the potential to bring concrete solutions. As the head of Slovak diplomacy further explained, Slovakia wants to build on this dynamic during its upcoming presidency of the V4, which Slovakia will take over on 1 July 2026. Hungary currently holds the chairmanship of the grouping.
The V4 is based on the natural geographical and historical proximity of these countries and on long-term relations that create strong connections in the areas of culture, education, science, politics, economy and social life.
