Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met with Russia’s new ambassador to Slovakia, Sergei Andreyev, on Monday, stressing the importance of maintaining dialogue with Moscow. According to the Government Office, discussions focused on economic cooperation, cultural ties and historical commemorations.
Ambassador Andreyev formally took up his post last week amid controversy. The opposition PS party has criticised his past diplomatic postings and warned that his appointment could pose potential security risks.
