On Wednesday the Prime Minister Robert Fico asked the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy to support Slovakia’s efforts to be granted an extension of the period of drawing on EU funds. €500 million from Brussels for transport projects is endangered.
The Hospodarske Noviny business daily found that the latest proposal by the European Commission includes a curb on such EU funds. Until now, Slovakia has counted on €4 billion; however it would have to do with €3.5 billion.
