Slovakia’s General Prosecutor’s Office is modernising judicial cooperation within the European Union through the e-Codex platform. The system allows secure electronic data exchange between judicial authorities across member states. A spokesperson said the project will make cross-border cooperation faster and more effective, especially in criminal cases. The platform was developed by the European Commission and aims to strengthen the fight against crime. Data will be exchanged through structured electronic documents, starting with the European Investigation Order. The project began in 2024 in partnership with Czech authorities and is largely funded by the EU Justice Programme. The platform is due to enter initial operation later this year.
