Slovak cyclist Viktória Chladoňová won silver in the under-23 race at the Cyclo-cross World Championships in Hulst, the Netherlands. The 19-year-old finished 11 seconds behind home rider Leonie Bentveld, with Célia Gery of France taking bronze.
Chladoňová took the lead on the second lap and built a five-second advantage. Bentveld passed her at the start of the fourth lap, and Chladoňová slipped to second place before the final lap. She briefly regained the lead after the climb, but Bentveld overtook her on a sharp corner. Chladoňová then missed a turn shortly before the finish, which proved decisive.
