Economy Minister Denisa Saková said inconsistent data in state databases affected energy aid payments for around 1 to 1.5 percent of households, not 10 percent as reported by some media. She explained that households who believe they were wrongly excluded can file a complaint, and aid can be paid retroactively if errors were not their fault.
Saková added that problems often arise in cases where multiple people remain registered at one address, which can raise a household’s calculated income. The minister also confirmed that Slovakia has launched analyses following a nuclear energy agreement with the United States, with the aim of assessing financial and technological options before selecting a supplier for a new nuclear reactor.
