Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (SMER-SD) has met with Paweł Kowal, chair of the Polish parliament’s foreign affairs committee, to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation on Monday. The talks confirmed the strong and long-standing partnership between Slovakia and Poland, and a shared interest in deepening ties at bilateral, regional and EU levels.
Blanár described relations with Poland as stable and wide-ranging, covering politics, security, the economy and people-to-people contacts. He highlighted growing trade and investment, noting that Poland is Slovakia’s fourth-largest trading partner.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in energy, defence and cross-border development, including infrastructure projects. Regional formats such as the Visegrad Group were reaffirmed, as well as shared views on Ukraine and the need for a just and lasting peace.
