Marking the 20th anniversary of the crash of a Slovak military aircraft near the Hungarian village of Hejce, President Peter Pellegrini stressed the importance of remembering those who never returned home. He recalled that 42 Slovak soldiers died while returning from a mission in Kosovo, with only one survivor. Pellegrini said society must honour their sacrifice and remember their loved ones, while expressing hope that peace will prevent such tragedies in the future.
