Actor Milan Ondrík won the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Actor in an International Feature Film for his performance in the film Father (Otec) by director Tereza Nvotová. The prestigious award is given by the International Federation of Film Critics.
In its official statement, the jury particularly highlighted the actor's ability to draw the viewer into the story from the very first shots. Ondrík plays a devoted father who starts his day in a completely banal way - taking his daughter to kindergarten. However, the seemingly ordinary situation quickly turns into a nightmare when he makes a devastating discovery that will forever change his life.
