The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra has ranked highest among Slovak universities in the latest UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2025. It placed 174th out of more than 1,700 universities worldwide, confirming its leading position at home.
The ranking assesses sustainability performance, including energy efficiency, waste management, water use, transport, and education. Within the Visegrad Four countries, the Nitra-based university finished seventh out of 39 institutions.
According to the university, the result reflects long-term efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, develop a greener campus, and support sustainability-focused research and education.
