Investment Minister Claims President Still Influences Hlas-SD Decisions

Investment Minister Samuel Migaľ, who was recently expelled from the party Hlas-SD, has called out the claims that President Peter Pellegrini does not interfere in the party’s internal decisions.

According to Migaľ, Pellegrini personally appeared before party delegates and actively supported the expulsion, despite knowing that the criticism of the party’s direction was, in his words, factual and justified. He claims that the President continues to influence key decision-making processes within Hlas-SD from behind the scenes, including determining who has political space within the party. Migaľ argues that statements about the party’s independence are hard to believe while Pellegrini retains special powers as its founding leader.

President Pellegrini has rejected the accusations, stating that policies of Hlas-SD are the responsibility of its legally elected leadership. He said his role as honorary chairman was granted by party delegates and that he follows party developments only in his capacity as head of state.
