From the new year, people in Slovakia will be able to call 116 117 for non-acute health problems. The advice line aims to reduce unnecessary calls to the emergency number 155.
Both healthcare experts and the head of the Chamber of Emergency Medical Services have welcomed the move. However, some members of rescuers’ unions have expressed concerns about its implementation.
