US Ambassador to Slovakia Gautam Rana, who is being recalled by the American government, says he will leave his post proud of the work done during his term. In a statement, Rana said he helped strengthen security, energy and economic ties between the United States and Slovakia, as well as personal relations between the two countries.
He highlighted Slovakia’s investment in F-16 fighter jets and recent cooperation on civil nuclear energy, which he said will support long-term security and reliable power supplies. Rana also praised the personal connections he built across the country. The ambassador is due to leave Slovakia on 16 January 2026. He has served in the post since September 2022.
