NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day featured a photograph by Slovak astrophotographer Tomáš Slovinský on Monday. The image captures the Geminids, the most active meteor shower of the year, above the Belianske Tatras in northern Slovakia. The photo was taken near the village of Ždiar during the night of December 13 to 14. At its center is a historic mountain hut, adding to the fairytale atmosphere of the scene.
