Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) has travelled to Brussels to attend a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Monday, 15 December.
EU foreign ministers will discuss Russia’s aggression against Ukraine following an informal exchange of views, via videoconference, with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. The Council will also address the situation in the Middle East in light of recent developments, including Syria one year after the fall of the Assad regime.
Ministers were also expected to exchange views on China and the EU’s relations with the country. Under any other business, the Council was to be briefed on hybrid threats facing EU member states. The meeting is chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
In addition, Blanár was invited to attend an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
