Slovak Economy Shows Mild Growth

Slovakia’s GDP grew by 0.9 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, the fastest pace this year but still below one percent. After seasonal adjustment, GDP increased by 0.3 percent quarter-on-quarter, reaching 35.7 billion euros in current prices, according to the Statistical Office. For the first nine months of 2025, GDP rose by 0.7 percent, with nominal output nearing 100.9 billion euros. Gross value added increased slightly by 0.4 percent, with five out of ten monitored sectors recording growth. Domestic demand rose by 0.7 percent, driven mainly by household consumption up 0.9 percent and public spending up 1.5 percent. Foreign trade also contributed positively, as both exports and imports grew by 4.1 percent and the trade balance remained positive at nearly 197.3 million euros.
