Artificial intelligence is transforming education faster than school systems can respond. That was the key message at this year’s OECD Global Forum on the Future of Education and Skills 2040, held for the first time in Slovakia.
Education ministers, experts and teachers from more than 40 countries met in Bratislava to discuss how to modernise curricula and support teachers in an AI-driven world. OECD education director Andreas Schleicher warned that “AI is now two steps ahead of systems and one step ahead of students,” calling for responsible and ethical use of new technologies.
Slovak Education Minister Tomáš Drucker (HLAS-SD) stressed the need to build public trust and communicate reforms clearly. The forum also introduced the new OECD AI Analyser Tool and included visits to Slovak schools showcasing innovative teaching practices.
