On the occasion of the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, the 12th annual Bubnovačka event will be held across Slovakia on Wednesday.
Bratislava will be no exception, where a public drum circle is planned in front of the Old Market Hall.
The National Coordination Center (NKS) for Addressing the Issue of Violence Against Children, which falls under the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family (MPSVR) of the Slovak Republic is coordinating the event.
"From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., drums and everything that can be drummed will be played again in cities and towns across Slovakia and the Czech Republic," said the Ministry of Labor, which expects more than 330,000 children and adults to join the initiative.
The symbolic drumming will draw attention to the importance of protecting children from violence.
The event was created 12 years ago in Nitra and focuses on the topic of violence against children. This year, the drumming will take place in over 1280 cities and municipalities, and according to the Ministry of Labor, interest in this topic is still growing.
