Slovak President Peter Pellegrini praised a national education project supporting students’ entrepreneurial and innovative potential, calling it a breakthrough for higher education. The GradeUP conference in Košice, attended by Education Minister Tomáš Drucker, highlighted initiatives connecting students with startups, AI projects, and industry internships. The Ministry of Education will offer nearly €9 million over three years for public universities to expand programs fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. Key goals include linking internships with employers, allowing students to test business ideas safely, and bringing in international lecturers and industry experts. The project also aims to network universities with global institutions to make innovation a standard part of Slovak higher education. Events like GradeUP and Night of Entrepreneurship showcase ongoing student-led innovations and startups across Slovak universities.
