Smer-SD accused Progressive Slovakia of using student Michal from Poprad for a political conflict, claiming MP Darina Luščíková blocked a discussion with Prime Minister Fico at a local gymnasium. PS leader Michal Šimečka defended Luščíková, saying she only supported the student’s free expression. The incident, in which student Michal wrote critical chalk messages about Fico, sparked solidarity nationwide, with others writing supportive messages in chalk. Michal stated he had no contact with politicians and was surprised by Luščíková’s presence. Smer-SD urged media and opposition to stop exploiting youth politically, while activists and students emphasized freedom of expression.
