Jan Richter, the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family and his chauffeur are both in a stable condition following a car accident near the village of Pata in the Trnava region on Tuesday. This was announced by Prime Minister Robert Fico after visiting the minister at Bratislava's University Hospital (UNB).
“They're both stable, we've talked to them," said Fico, who did not comment on the circumstances leading up to the accident. “All I can say is that the accident occurred during a heavy rain storm,” he added. According to the news site noviny.sk, witnesses said that the Minister’s car lost control and spun off the R1 expressway at 11 A.M., with reports indicating Richter had sustained chest and abdominal injuries.
