Representatives of major companies operating in the retail sector in Slovakia sent an open letter to Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) and Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) aiming to draw attention to the growing problem of theft from retail outlets and to propose specific measures to improve the safety of employees and customers.
"The safety of our employees and customers is our top priority. We believe that by working together with the Interior and Justice Ministries we can take effective measures that will help to reduce the crime rate in retail and improve the environment for everyone," the retailers stressed in the letter.
According to the managing director of LPP Slovakia, Patrik Canecky, the open letter was sent with a request to acknowledge the appeal and provide information about further steps to be taken by the ministries.
The signatories of the call include ALPINE PRO STORES, Bata Slovensko, GATE, Kik Textil a Non-Food, LARA BAGS, LPP Slovakia (Reserved, Sinsay, Cropp, House, Mohito), Martinus, NAY, Panta Rhei, Takko Fashion Slovakia, and Teta drogerie SR.
