European Parliament President Roberta Metsola will visit Slovakia early next year. She accepted an invitation from Slovak Parliamentary Chair Richard Raši (Hlas-SD) during their meeting in Brussels on Wednesday. Raši raised Slovakia’s concerns about key EU policies — including the future EU budget, energy security, and stricter climate goals. He warned that merging cohesion and agricultural funds could hurt Slovak regions and farmers, and criticized the planned ETS2 carbon system as a heavy burden for households. Metsola said she will discuss these issues personally with Slovakia’s top officials and students during her visit.
