Slovakia to Boost Cooperation on Protecting Children’s Rights Abroad

Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) and Children’s Commissioner Jozef Mikloško discussed protecting children’s rights in international cases, including Slovak children taken abroad and unaccompanied Ukrainian minors living in Slovakia. Both agreed to strengthen cooperation through a formal agreement aimed at preventing child abductions and improving legal awareness among Slovaks abroad. Minister Blanár said consular services often play a key role in helping families in crisis and promised closer coordination with other ministries. Slovakia also plans to continue international discussions on child protection next year.
