Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) says cooperation among the Visegrad Four countries — Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic — is essential for their success in Europe. Writing on social media after meeting Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Bratislava, Fico said mutual respect for national interests is key to constructive relations. He added that while the countries may not always agree, they must stand together on shared goals to better defend their national interests. Nawrocki’s visit to Slovakia is his first official trip to a V4 country since taking office. During the visit, he also met with President Peter Pellegrini and Parliamentary Speaker Richard Raši.
