Slovak diplomat Marcel Peško has taken up his new post as head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia. Peško began his mandate on November 1, with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe confirming the appointment this week. He said he looks forward to working with the Serbian government and local partners to support democratic institutions, rule of law, and media development, as well as to protect human rights and minority rights. Peško is a veteran diplomat who previously led the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre and served as the organisation’s special representative for Ukraine.
