Slovakia Sends More Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Slovakia has delivered nearly two tons of humanitarian aid to Egypt for civilians affected by the crises in the Gaza Strip and Sudan. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár personally oversaw the delivery.

The shipment — Slovakia’s third so far — is worth 49,000 euros and includes surgical gloves, sutures, water canisters, solar lamps, and mess kits. It was handed over to Egypt’s Ministry of Health, which provides medical assistance to Palestinians and Sudanese on its territory.

While in Cairo, Blanár also met with Egyptian government officials, signed a new agreement on economic cooperation, and attended the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Last year, trade between the two countries reached 342 million euros. The new accord aims to boost cooperation in areas such as innovation, energy, and investment, including joint ventures and business exchanges.
