The national round of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or culinary competition took place Wednesday in Banská Bystrica, with the winner set to be announced in the evening. The top team will advance to the European round in France, where ten countries will qualify for the world final. Competing chefs include Patrik Pokrývka and Andrej Róth from the High Tatras and Donovaly, and Stanislav Opold from Nitra. The contest celebrates teamwork, creativity, and national pride, giving Slovak chefs a chance to showcase their culinary skills on a global stage, often called the “culinary Oscar.”
