Slovakia’s priority remains living in peace, resolving disputes through diplomacy, and upholding respect for international law. President Peter Pellegrini said this during a ceremony of the Armed Forces General Staff in Bratislava. He stressed that the changing security environment requires strengthening defense capabilities and ensuring Slovakia is a reliable NATO ally. Pellegrini highlighted the need to equip the military with modern technology and adapt to new forms of warfare, including hybrid threats. He also praised the National Defense Forces project for involving civilians in defense preparedness. The President thanked professional soldiers for their service, noting their role in maintaining stability and assisting citizens during crises such as disease outbreaks and humanitarian operations.
